Jeff Keith (also known as “Goose Man”, “Weed Man”, “Bug Man”, “Dance King”, “Beard Man”, “Swan Man”, “Wreath Man”, etc.) is the second most senior member of the Board of Governors. The Keith family, Jeff, Adrienne, Justin, Matthew, and Jemilla have called Lake Shawnee home for over 25 years. Jeff has served on the Board about 20 of those years, giving freely of his time and many talents. “Jeffy-Boy” (another alias) is a jack-of-all-trades and master of many. He is an excellent teacher and popular as well as successful ski team coach. Jeff is also an accomplished handy-man with a specialty in building storage sheds (that look like outhouses!) and boat racks. He is a world traveler who seems most attracted to extreme climates like rain forests and big bugs. (I don’t know why.) Jeff also holds the distinction of being the only man who has been attacked or chased by a bear, a goose, AND a swan. (Could it be the beard??) Jeff plays a mean game of shuffleboard and can pitch a decent game of horseshoes, especially after a few brews. In a world of givers and takers, Jeff Keith is a giver, a positive asset and a major contributor to our Lake Shawnee Club and community. Whether it be water quality, weed control, lake preservation, silt issues, or geese, Jeff has been the man. The amount of time and energy he has devoted as a volunteer over the past twenty years is remarkable and laudable. Above all, we all consider ourselves fortunate to know Jeff and I count him as a valued friend.
