Lise Meisner has served on the Board of Governors for the past sixteen years, the last twelve in the position of Executive Vice President. She is now, once again, a board member, willing to do all she can to serve the community. Lise and her family moved to Lake Shawnee in 1975 when she was a young girl so she’s now in her 35th year in the community. She loved living in the area back then and fondly remembers when Shawnee Trail had much less traffic and it was safer to ride a bike on it. She also remembers some of the square dances held at Second Beach (though she’s not nearly old enough to remember some of the real “archive stuff” highlighted in the paper). Lise (it is pronounced just like “Lisa”, by the way) went to school here and graduated from Jefferson High School. For much of her term on the Board, Lise has been very involved with the Social Committee. Lise was the primary organizer of the Club’s 50th and 60th Anniversary celebrations. A couple of years ago she started the “snack shack” found at first beach during the summer. She enjoys being a part of these activities very much and hopes to continue to be involved for a long time to come. Lise is very much involved with the Hurdtown United Methodist Church. She has been a travel agent with Small World Travel in Randolph, a family owned business, since 1990, and is also, currently a teacher’s aide at the high school in town. While many of her contributions to the Lake and Club are often taken for granted, I for one have been very appreciative having her with us on the Board and value her input and insight in any discussions or decisions to be made.
