Calling all young fishing enthusiasts! Our Jr. Angler Fishing Event is a fun-filled day on the lake for kids 13 and under. Whether your child is a first-time fisher or a little pro with a tackle box, this event is all about enjoying the outdoors, learning new skills, and making memories.
We’ll have prizes, snacks, and plenty of smiles—so grab your rods and join us for a great time by the water!

August 16, 2024 - Jr Angler Clinic and Contest
On Friday the Lake Shawnee Fishing Committee put on a fantastic event. They held a Jr. Anglers Fishing Clinic & Contest. Committee head Bobbie Harris gave both Jr. Anglers Casey Cumberton & Logan Zimmer full reign to create, plan, and execute the event. The boys did an absolutely amazing job! The event went extremely smooth, was well organized, and did what it was intended to do. Get the kids fishing! The event had children from age 5 to age 13 working together and enjoying the day together. While part of it was a competition, the kids all worked well with each other helping & teaching those with less experience. It really turned out fantastic. Mission Accomplished.
